Experiencing American History
The 2009 classes were held not far from Washington, D.C. and the Historical Triangle in Virginia. Reinforcing classroom work, cadets experience first hand the birth and founding of our great nation. Below are descriptions of tours:
Jamestown, VA: Cadets will learn about the first permanent English settlement and the discovery of America at Jamestown Settlement.
Yorktown, VA: Students learn about the men and women who lived during the American Revolution at the Yorktown Victory Center.
Washington, D.C.: Cadets tour the memorials to the men and women who have served our country and sacrificed so much to keep our nation free. These memorials include: the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the new World War II Memorial, the Washington Monument, and others. Cadets will also have the unique opportunity to visit the National Archives and view the original Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Magna Carta.
