Experiencing American History

The 2008 classes will be held near Washington, D.C. and the Historical Triangle in Virginia.  Reinforcing classroom work on civics, cadets experience first hand the founding and birth of our great nation.  Below are descriptions of tours:

Jamestown, VA:  Cadets will learn about the first permanent English settlement and the discovery of America at Jamestown Settlement.

Yorktown, VA:  Students learn about the men and women who lived during the American Revolution at the Yorktown Victory Center.

Williamsburg, VA:  Cadets arrive at the nation’s largest living history museum, Colonial Williamsburg, to learn about the passion and pursuit of freedom that still shapes the world today.

Washington, D.C.:  Cadets tour the memorials to the men and women who have served our country and sacrificed so much to keep our nation free.  These memorials include: the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the new World War II Memorial, the Washington Monument, and others.
